Founder Welcome

Lucas Bonnici

Lucas ~ Founder and Director of Building Blocks Life Coaching ~ is an experienced Life Coach who has been leading voice in the Melbourne disability and Behavioural Intervention space since 2014. He began his career in the Victorian Department of Education working in as a Behaviour Therapist. During this time, he specialised in Horner’s Model - Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) with further training in the Lovaas (DTT), Skinner (VB), and Koegel (PRT) models of Behaviour Intervention.

In 2016, Lucas ventured to create a distinct, individually tailored and multidisciplinary model of PBS which really promotes a learners potential and delivers truly generalised results across all life’s settings.

The successful results of this endeavour created his unique and practical ‘Building Blocks Method’. Based upon this method, he founded BBLC in 2017. To meet the complex needs of families, service delivery eventually expanded into other forms, all delivered with the PBS mind-set of creating independence through skills development.     With the ever-expanding ‘BBLC Family’ - clients, staff and professional partners, BBLC opened its doors at the ‘BBLC Learning Centre’, in Moonee Ponds in January 2020. As the family expanded, BBLC outgrew the Moonee Ponds Learning Centre. In October of 2022, the team moved to a more luxurious Centre in Airport West. With Lucas at the helm, he strives to continue to develop BBLC as an industry leader, provide high quality service delivery and reach more homes across Melbourne.

Our Values

Building Blocks Life Coaching believes in the importance of opportunity. The neuro-typical & able-bodied often have the opportunity to visit the shops, watch a film at the movies, attend a concert, play at the park… the list goes on. ‘Opportunity’ is an interesting concept for those of us living without disabilities - it can be easy to take many of these simple occasions for granted by not realising the profound power they hold. This benefit isn’t merely in the enjoyment of these activities as there is also development of behaviours and skills from just participating in these activities. The in-opportunity for inclusion in these pastimes can create a never ending cycle in which skill deficiency or challenging behaviours leads to less engagement in growth events and the gap perpetually widens.

For this reason, we strongly believe in providing the maximum possible level of opportunities both in the home and community more widely. Feel free to enquire HERE to keep up to date with all the brilliant opportunities brought to life by Building Blocks Life Coaching.
